Join the Collard Corps

If you grew up on the Gulf Coast, you’ve probably been to a few hurricane work parties. Think of Barleybrine as one for the ages. It’s all about neighbors helping neighbors, good vibes & great beer. Just leave the chainsaws at home for this one. Ok, guys?

The Collard Corps is the volunteer wing of Blue Collards, the company that created Barleybrine. We host a variety of other culinary events, besides this one, and in each case, donate a portion of proceeds to a charitable cause we care about.

Besides helping us do some good, Collard Corps members receive cool swag, get free entry to our events and, generally, get to hang out with some really cool people who are passionate about good food and storytelling. When you register to volunteer for Barleybrine, you’ll become a part of this larger community.

It takes 200+ volunteers to make Barleybrine a success. We are always looking for amazing volunteers to join our team, so gather a group and sign up today!

Most volunteers will be assigned to a specific table a be pouring during the event. Most tents only require 2-3 volunteers – if your group is larger, we may need to split you up and place you at adjoining tents to make sure we have each area staffed properly. Other volunteer opportunities include helping with ticketing, set-up and break-down.

Volunteers are prohibited from drinking while on their shift. However, volunteers will receive free entry to the Jan. 26 tasting and are welcome to enjoy the festivities (and the beer) when not on the clock. Opportunities are limited and in high-demand, so sign-up now to secure a spot.

Specific volunteer opportunities for our April 6 event are outlined below:

  • Logistics: Four three-hour shifts, starting at 8:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm and 5:30pm
  • Admission: Two three-hour shifts, starting at 11:30am and 2:30pm
  • Pouring: Two three-hour shifts, starting at 11:30am and 2:30pm


All beer pouring volunteers must be a minimum of 21 years of age before the event to volunteer. Read full rules & Regulations here.
